The first time Edalia went to a party wearing a dress she ended up getting locked out of her apartment during a thunder storm. Sometimes it feels like the universe is laughing at you. Sometimes it feels like the world is giving you the push you need to begin to live an authentic life.

Let People Like You is a love letter to the wild and wonderful ways life trips us up, and the beautiful journeys we take to put each other back together again. A theatrical hug of a spoken word show, full of slam poetry, physical comedy, hilarious songs and a polycule of dancing squirrels.

“Edalia is a beaming light of hope in a world that can sometimes feel hopeless.”
- Rosa Torr

“Poignant, funny and she dances like an angel.”
- Charlotte Arculus

Praise for past shows:

★★★★★ “A magnificent tapestry of gender expectations… a digital masterpiece.”

★★★★★ “Too Pretty to Punch is the rare queer show that I have no qualms recommending to anyone. Everyone should see this show.”

– Broadway Baby

“Head-spinning, joyful, painful, funny – and I loved the tech. It’s a blast from and to the heart.”

– Chris Thorpe

About

I'm a transgender poet, actor, animator, projection designer, dancer, and comedy song writer. Trained at Lecoq (2012) and ALRA (2006) my performance work is full of energy and theatrical flair and my theatre combines poetry, comedy, live music and interactive projection mapping. Collaborators have included The National Theatre, HOME, The Young Vic, Norwich Theatre, Milk Presents, 1623, and my work has featured at Sundance Film Festival in the US and Zebra Poetry Film Festival in Berlin.

I tour spoken word shows around the UK, combining a mix of physical theatre, interactive projection design, explosive poetry and comedy songs, as well as doing standalone spoken word poetry and comedy cabaret gigs. I also act in film and TV as well as in theatre where I specialise in Shakespeare, Physical Theatre and actor musicianship.

As a freelance animator and projection designer I collaborate on short films, corporate projects and theatre productions, specialising in hand drawn, frame by frame animation and creative captioning.

I regularly facilitate workshops in poetry, animation, a cappella harmony singing, Lecoq style physical theatre, and video projection, with a wide variety of ages from primary school to university level and beyond.

I offer mentoring people, with advice on theatre producing, script writing, animation and projection design, often as part of artists' DYCP grants.

I love hearing about new projects so if your interested in working together pop an email to edalia.day@gmail.com and lets arrange a time to chat.
