Workshops

I run a range of workshops in acting, poetry, animation projection mapping, and theatre making for all ages and abilities, from children and absolute beginners all the way through to university and professional level participants. I also offer one to one training. Since lockdown I've started running some of them online and will continue to do so once lockdown eases, as some actually work better that way. To book a workshop or to find out more info email me at edalia.day@gmail.com

Projection/Animation

Introduction to Project Mapping

Are you interested in using video projection in your theatre, art or events but don't know where to start? Or do you have some experience but want more hands-on techniques? Join Edalia Day as they walk you through their process from idea through to creation and performance as seen in their shows. You will get the low down on the software & hardware options available and advice on how to achieve your projection ambitions.

Live Digital Puppetry

Come and have go and try your hand at a fun, interactive drama workshop bringing digital puppets to life!

We'll explore ways of improvising with animation, using graphics tablets and video game controllers to puppeteer animated characters that are projected on walls and screens around the room. Then draw your own characters and perform alongside them in a new piece of theatre of your own making.

Animation taster session

Dive into the world of animation. In this hands-on workshop you will get to use your own mobile phones/tablets to create simple animations using the free app Flipaclip (iOS/Android). Come along and discover the endless possibilities.

Poetry

Rewriting the future

A workshop exploring ways of communicating difficult subject matter in a fun and entertaining way while not losing any of the seriousness of the subject.

Theatre performance

Lecoq Masterclass (one day)

In this one-day masterclass, you'll create bold and ridiculous, yet truthful characters and explore physical theatre techniques using the fundamentals of the Lecoq style. Whether you’re looking to learn new techniques for theatre making or simply want to develop as performer - this workshop will provide you with a toolbox of performance skills and new ways of working.
